Tonnara di Scopello

Tonnara di Scopello

September 22-24, 2025

Each of our guests will be able to stay with us at la tonnara in a suite overlooking the crystal clear waters, mega yachts & cacti that scale the rock formations. It’s a view you won’t soon forget!

Upon RSVP, your room will be reserved (2 nights).

An ancient seaside village and tuna fishery just 45 minutes from Sicily’s capital - Palermo, La Tonnara di Scopello is one of the most important and oldest in Sicily. Tonnara (meaning tuna fishery) was once the main player of Sicily’s economy.

The first buildings date back to the 13th century; the proper tonnara was built in the 15th century by Giovanni Sanclemente and enlarged by the Sanclemente family during the 16th century. Recently it has been renovated to be a boutique hotel, event space, and museum showcasing the history of mattanza.

Scopello backs up to the Zingaro Nature Reserve which has some of the best hiking and secluded beaches on the entire island.

Address: Largo Tonnara, 91014 Scopello TP, Italy
